Description

Native to the West Indies, this oil is nicknamed West Indian Sandalwood, although it is not botanically related to true Sandalwood. The wood of the evergreen Amyris balsamifera is notably very flammable due to its high oil content, and may be referred to as “candle wood” or “torchwood.” The richly aromatic resin is steam-distilled from the wood and often used as a base note or natural fragrance fixative thanks to its heavier compounds and lingering aroma. 

Amyris has a relaxing effect on the mind, helping to support overall emotional well-being when nervous tension and everyday stressors begin to take hold. Adding Amyris into your life can help bring relief to tired minds while supporting feelings of clarity and positive thinking after a tiring day. Its relaxing qualities can also lead the way to sound, restful sleep. Its warm, soft peppery scent makes a wonderful addition to fragrance blends and colognes. When added to creams or diluted in a carrier oil, Amyris can also be used to support naturally radiant skin by helping to soften and smooth the appearance of fine lines in mature or sensitive skin. How to Use 
Aromatic: Diffuse using 3-4 drops per 100 mL of water or use in a personal inhaler. 
Topical: Dilute to 2-4% in a carrier.
