Polychrome Jasper is often mistakenly labeled under the names "Ocean Jasper" or "Ocean Agate," but in reality, it’s neither Ocean Jasper nor Agate. 

Unlike Ocean Jasper, which was first discovered in 1922, Polychrome Jasper is a relatively new variety, only discovered in 2008. Currently, it’s found exclusively in Madagascar, and because it’s so new, there are very few references to it in books, and mineral studies on it are still limited. What we do know is that its vibrant and bold colors come from iron elements, and many people are instantly captivated by its striking beauty.
